Lenti Agency for Microregional Development
The Local Government of Lenti has won a tender in the
Hungary-Slovenia Phare CBC 2003. Programme. The tender has been submitted to the
invitation titled "Maximisation of human resource potential”. Demand for the
establishment of the Lenti Agency for Microregional Development has proved to be
very high in the region, as the co-ordination of the opportunities held by
Hungarian and EU tenders, and the local expectations of development made it
necessary to train a specialist staff. The staff’s task is to co-ordinate the
development needs and possibilities arising from the private, state-owned and
non-profit sector of the economy.
The newly formed agency’s young graduate colleagues and their helpers are
experts on different fields, and they complement each other in the fields of
environment protection, economics, computer sciences, agriculture, human
resource management and tourism.
Tasks of the Agency include monitoring tenders, preparing offers on the topics
to be applied for, prividing regular information about new potentials, preparing
tenders, coordination of project implementation, organisation of specialists’
meetings and study tuors, gathering organisations interested in development,
making a database on developments, contribution to joint activity programmes of
the region, advising and keeping in contact with the settlement of the
microregion
